Humour would be nice (I don’t want anything too heavy) but not essential.
TIA
Edit: I’d like the protagonist to be an adult (30s and over) and not to be fraught with guilt over their job.
I have also just finished reading a sprawling 6 book fantasy series and I want to take a break from intricate back stories.
I basically want a book with a female Jason Statham character. Action packed with a bit of righteous vengeance thrown in.

If you’re interested in sci-fi, Blade Dancer by S.L. Viehl might be up your alley.
If you’re interested in fantasy, The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson is a fun espionage story about a girl trained to be a spy and assassin.
If you want something set on modern day earth, I’m sure someone else has a great rec for you.
Literally every other YA fantasy leans on a hot moody female assassin-that-hates-being-an-assassin FMC. Just throw a dart at your kindle.
But from all Ive skimmed or finished, I’d say Throne of Glass (Maas) is at least bearable. Maas is also a good choice because if you like her you’ll be set for a while because she cranks out books like it’s literally an assembly line.
Check out Patrick Weekes . The Palace job . Doesn’t check all your boxes but capable female leader in a ridiculously humorous world setting is entertaining
