We will be travelling to Bangkok and Singapore soon and I'd love to read more about the cities, the history, or unique things. I am specifically not looking for travel guides like Lonely Planet.
Two examples of books similar to ones I'd like to find is Stroll – Toronto or Country Driving – China
These books have good cultural, historic, information, and might also highlight places I'd like to visit some time.
As far as I can tell, there is not really any sites that will let you "browse" like if you were in an actual bookstore. GoodReads is has no advanced filter and search (unless I am missing something). Nothing on Storygraph seems to allow any filtering or sorting.
Does such a site exist? Is "browsing" just not profitable enough? I would not mind being fed "recommended books" or books from "the Algorithm", If I could just get .. relevant results.
