Lighthearted books for a 11 yo refugee girl?

My family has a friend family that just arrived from Syria 🙂 One of the daughters (11) wants to read some American books (her English is quite good). Can anyone suggest some books that are at or slightly under 6th grade level that are fairly wholesome? She's been through a lot so we're looking for stuff that wouldn't be triggering or very heavy. Thanks!!!
