I've seen a lot of people say they read some books for growth/learning/opening up their minds and some books for fun. I just got back into reading again (for the first time in a decade) last year and I'm curious what people would consider growth books.

What do you mean? Like books that challenge you?

Listened to “Ancillary Justice” by Anne Leckie with my partner and I think he found the complexity of it changing in a satisfying way. In terms of complex worldbuilding and timelines, “The Goblin Emperor” by Katherine Addison and “Witch King” by Martha Wells could be similar.
