I used to love reading and would read every night before bed. Lately if I read at all, which is very rare, it's been manga. I'm looking for some recommendations with a legitimately engaging story. Books I've enjoyed in the past include: Puddlejumpers by Christopher Carlson, the Warriors (cats) series by Erin Hunter, the Artemis Fowl series, Nightshade series by Andrea Cremer, The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer
Open to Lightnovels and YAs, but I want the story to be genuinely good and not so cliche and eye-roll inducing as "chosen one who is in a love triangle in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world". I do like The Hunger Games and I enjoyed Divergent when I read it but I'm older now and might not enjoy the trope as much lol
