I really like the concept of warlocks in Dungeons and Dragons – people who create bargains for cosmic power in exchange for some type of complex and mysterious contract. Not just the patron/servant aspect but the entire theme that words and agreements can hold immense power and can’t be easily broken.
Are there any stories with that kind of vibe? One where one of the main focuses is on negotiating giant deals and contracts.
I’d prefer Sci-fi/fantasy but non-fantasy fiction/nonfiction would also be great
