A book people would tend to compare to Lolita, except that there's no sex happening, no predator, it's reversed: the young one initiate (just trying—no success), and is not as young as Dolores in the novel, and with real feelings from them (one-sided, the adult isn't interested).
Also not a prose that can compete with Nabokov's.
The common point boils down to a mismatched pair (age) and one being deluded, thinking a relationship is possible, and not taking into account the other's consent.
So one could ask "then why mention Lolita?" if it hasn't the most significant parts in common. Well, somehow people tend to make such association, so I thought that I could try this approach for this book suggestion.
