Ever since I went through a sudden and unexpected death of a close family member, I’ve struggled with books with deeply sad endings. I don’t mind feeling big feelings or bad things happening to good people, but I kind of need things to resolve in the end or else I feel too much grief and dispare.
My fav genres are historical fiction, speculative and (light) science fiction, mystery, and books that richly describe urban settings or settings in the global south, especially South Asia (I lived in India for a while). My favourite book prize is the Booker Prize and I tend to enjoy things from their shortlist!
Thanks 🙂

Eh I guess the White Tiger would fit quite well into the latter descriptions you gave but maybe not with the overall theme you’re looking for. But hmm… I guess Q&A fits that bill quite well too? I don’t know if this is what you’re looking for, but my favourite warm chocolate on a rainy evening books are usually anything written by Fredrik Backman especially a Man Called Ove, and Anxious People, so I’ll always recommend those anytime I get the chance.
