It is a trilogy to start. It’s fantastic. Then there are three stand alone books in universe that I really really loved, plus one collection of shirt stories from the world.
Then a sequel trilogy that was equally as great.
Everything in this world is fantastic and I asked the same question as you almost word for word and got this recommendation and LOVED IT ALL.

Some possibilities that come to mind:
– The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch (though this series is also a bit stuck)
– The Mask of Mirrors by MA Carrick
Red Rising by Pierce Brown if you don’t mind venturing into sci fi.
