My first ever Reddit rec!!! So I loved killers of the flower moon. I fell in love with this book. I would be out and about and excited to read it when I got home. I really liked how this book was set up. With the officers in three different rankings then how shit went down on the island.

For some reason I thought more hell was going to break lose.

I really didn’t expect they would have each other backs in the trial.

My other favorite part was when Byron would carry his lantern in the bowels of the ship to the top. The imagery of my head gave it this big titanic aspect to the ship.

I also enjoyed how methodical the gunner was like this isn’t mutiny but it’s mutiny.

Overall I think I will preorder this man’s next book lmao

I just finished this a month ago, and I loved it. Fast paced, easy read. Like you , I couldn’t put it down. The details were much better than I expected. The factions formed after the shipwreck were interesting, a look into what happens when all the trappings of civilization are removed. The fact that Byron’s grandfather was on the ship was a bonus! I went into this one pretty blind, but I have some books on the expeditions to Antarctica (Shackleford) and find this kinda stuff fascinating. Bleak, uninhabitable landscape and man’s will to survive.
Highly recommend this one to nonfiction and history readers.
