i just finished Lesson In Chemistry, and IM IN LOVE! i imagine i’m a little late to the party. but for those who haven’t yet picked up this book, i highly recommend!
i’ve attached my good reads review:
FINALLY!!! Another 5 star rating for the vault! ⭐️😊
This book will happily stick with me forever. Bonnie Garmus is a fantastic author. Lessons in Chemistry touched on controversial topics that NEED to be spoken about. Taking place in the 1950s-1960s touching race, religion, and sex- sadly, this novel is still beyond relatable as a woman in 2024. (You’ll understand after reading).
Bonnie’s ability to stitch every last little tidbit together to make sense for the reader was IMPECCABLE. This book left NO unanswered questions, had a GREAT ending, a non cliche love story, interesting conflict, was NOT predictable at all, and left my heart soaring.
With a riveting plot to follow, great character development, foreshadowing, metaphors, irony, amazing motif, conflict, personification, heartbreak, happiness, different P.O.V.s, amazing diction- this book has it all.
My only personal qualm as a spiritual person was certain negative mentions regarding beliefs in God, but this book included both sides of religion, which is only fair, and again, one of the many many amazingly touched on topics in this book.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
