If you are in the US/interested in US geography, *How the States Got Their Shapes* by Mark Stein is a great read that I enjoyed back when I was a geography-loving kid. *Atlas Obscura* has some interesting books as well with a more global perspective, mainly focused on strange or fascinating places around the world.

      Take a look at Prisoners of Geography (the Illustrated Young Readers Edition) by Tim Marshall

      DK Geography of the World is a beautiful reference book.

      Also the DK Where On Earth? atlas is great!
