I just finished reading A Certain Hunger by Chelsea Summers. I've read the Bell Jar and My Year of Rest and Relaxation, but I kind of want something more aggressive, with edge, similar to A Certain Hunger.
I highly recommend King Kong Theory by Virginie Despentes.
A quick summary since there are triggers: Powerful, provocative, and personal, King Kong Theory is a candid account of how the author of Baise-Moi and Vernon Subutex came to be Virginie Despentes. Drawing from personal experience, Despentes shatters received ideas about rape and prostitution, and explodes common attitudes about sex and gender..
I cannot recommend it enough. It was an excellent read.
