I saw this asked on r/Anarchism but there wasn’t that many answers. I am currently reading Franz Fanon’s Black Skin White Masks. They had it at my school library and I read the introduction and thought it was really interesting. The copy they had was of Charles Lam Markman’s translation. I decided not to check out the book but later on, I found an audiobook version but the translation is by Richard Philcox. Both versions say pretty much the same thing but the Philcox version seemed a bit dumbed down, if that makes sense, the meaning of what was said was the same but the wording was more simple. I’m just curious to know which one is more accurate to the original French version and if anyone has a preference for one translation over the other.
