Wife and I are taking a road trip and we got it in our heads that we wanted to “listen” to a rom-com. We love You’ve Got Mail, Somethings Gotta Give,Must Love Dogs, When Harry Met Sally, The Holiday, and more modern takes like the Proposal, Just Friends, and Always Be Your Maybe.
I know there are “romance” books as a genre, of course, but that’s not what we’re looking for. We want more “com” and a bit of “rom,” not just hungry yearning between young lovers, LOL, with a few jokes thrown in.
The closest I’ve personally come in my own reading was “Fresh” by Margot Wood or some of Nick Hornby’s work (e.g., “About a Boy”; “High Fidelity” that were eventually turned into rom-dramedies on the silver screen).
