I'm almost through Moby Dick. I really like the first half of it; then it was mostly story, but I really had to struggle to get through to >90%. The archaic writing style, mixed with maritime terms, makes it hard to follow and honestly there are parts of this book I straight up don't understand. I think I'll need to read it again, and more slowly, to understand some of those parts.
I love Dracula and Three men in a Boat, along with other classics, but is it just me, or is Moby Dick really obtuse or too dated for modern, casual, readings?

Oh, no! Not “Call me Ishmael” and the watery parts of the world, again.
