Can you suggest to me a good dark fantasy book?

To be more specific, I’m not looking for any thing like twilight that just has vampires or something. I want the literary version of dark souls, something like Tolkien but if the world were a place of suffering instead of divine intervention, where the spark of hope is thoroughly put out.

Maybe something akin to I have no mouth and I must scream, or a brave new world, but fantasy instead of sci-fi.
