I work third shift and listen to audiobooks, it helps move the time along and it’s great when I can find a book that carries itself throughout my long shifts.
I’ve recently listened a handful of books that I have seen recommended frequently over the last few months and I am not a fan of most of them.
So I thought, I’d list a few books that I did enjoy and hopefully you all could give me some ideas based on what I list.
Books over the last several months I have listened to and enjoyed:
The Secret History by Donna Tart (I did not like The Goldfinch)
Big Swiss by Jen Beagin
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver (I did not like the Poisonwood Bible)
Tampa by Alissa Nutting
I really like just about anything by Alice Hoffman, her writing style really holds my attention.
Any help is appreciated!
My only real turn off is I’m more into fantasy than sci fi, and even then it needs to walk a fine line with realism.
