Howdy everyone, I’ve been on a nonfiction kick for a while, really loving it. Please recommend me a book where you finished it and just felt cool and smart, and now you know about some wild stuff more than the average person probably does. For example, I read the fish that ate the whale, all about the creation of United Fruit and their dealings in Central America. I like now that I just know about the general history of Guatemala and the banana companies in the 20th century. If it came up in conversation I’d be able to participate, basically.
I’ve read the following:
– the fish that ate the whale
– rubicon
– the hot zone
– inverting the pyramid
– fear and loathing in la liga
– the miracle of castle di sangro
– in the garden of beasts
– unbroken
– seabiscuit
– into thin air
– alive
– all the shahs men
– Stalingrad
– Hiroshima
– helter skelter
– blackkklansman
– motorcycle diaries
– shake hands with the devil
– killers of the flower moon
– fever pitch
– kitchen confidential
– the rape of nanking
– biographies of: nick lidstrom, Wayne Gretzky, jimi hendrix, Dave grohl
I have on my TBR the following, so if anyone of them are absolute bangers let me know and I’ll prioritize them:
– challenger
– the faithful executioner
– all of Erik larsons works
– say nothing
– touching the void
– football against the enemy
Thanks in advance!!
