I've read a lot of Stephen King, and I like most of what I've read. I've tried a lot of other horrors, thrillers, the darkest of the dark that I can find and I can hardly ever get into them. Nothing ever quite compares to the terror in IT that had me devouring the whole audiobook in less than a week. Only thing that came close was 11.22.63.
The problem is with most of the books I find, they take far too long, multiple chapters to get around to something interesting. I dont want to be at Chapter 3 and still not come to the plot.
I've just finished Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris and loved it, partly because I could get into the story as it got to the point quick enough.
Any suggestions for scary, dark horrors/thrillers that drop you right in the thick of it? I dont really mind the specifics of the genre, I love realistic, supernatural, apocalypse fiction, sci-fi, you name it, as long as its scary.
