I'm looking for books that feature a plot/adventure based in modern-day (esque) society/history. Kind of like a Young Adult/New Adult version of Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Hunger Games but grounded to present-day-like reality. Kinda akin to other stuff like My Hero Academia, Final Fantasy, Pokémon, etc. Looking for more sci-fi than fantasy, but either genre is appreciated. Bonus points if the MC is a guy who is 18/21+ and speaks in first person.
