I'm looking for a good book series written for adults or YA. The caveat is I don't like fantasy, sci-fi, or most (long ago) historical fiction, which is where all the series tend to be. And I'm not really trying to read James Patterson or the like either. Do series like this exist???
For more info, as a kid I LOVED the Baby-sitters Club books, and I've started rereading them as an adult and they hold up pretty well. I know I'm not going to find a series with 100+ books written for adults, but I'm craving that experience of staying with the same characters for more time. I read 90-120 books per year, and it's sometimes jarring to keep entering new worlds and meeting new characters every few days. Thoughts?
Examples of series I like: The Inheritance Games, Elm Creek Quilts, The Rosie Project, Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. Thanks!
