I'm trying to be better about reading books, but I've only ever seemed to thoroughly enjoy Vonnegut, Murakami or Bukowski.
I tried reading The sun also rises by Hemingway the other day and found it incredibly dull. Any suggestions welcome.

Bookmarking this because I, too, find myself longing for Vonnegut while reading basically anyone else.
I do really like Charles Portis fwiw. Start with either True Grit or Dog of the South and go from there!
I’d give Chuck Palahniuk a shot if you like Vonnegut.
