Hello my kid is seven, loves fantasy, magic, magical realism, comedy with some twists. They’ve read the first three Harry Potter books, fablehaven and dragon watch by Brandon Mull, all the ivy and bean books, and is currently reading the candy shop wars. Any suggestions?

Terry Pratchett has a number of young reader titles. [https://www.terrypratchettbooks.com/book-series/younger-readers/](https://www.terrypratchettbooks.com/book-series/younger-readers/)

Diana Wynne Jones does loads of them.

Old classics: Lion Witch and Wardrobe, CS Lewis. Roald Dahl as well, although a bit more modern. Many of his made into movies too.

Phillip Pullman, His Dark materials series. Lloyd Alexander – The Chronicles of Prydain series.

Many more on Goodreads Best Childrens Fantasy list.

There is Beverly Clearly. Either Romana or Fudge should appeal.

There are the Warriors by Erin Hunter

Wayside Stories are normally a hit.
