As a kid, I loved fantasy! I read Eragon, LotR, Narnia, HP. As an adult, I stopped reading fantasy, but now I want to get back into it.
Things that I’m looking for:
– Character focus and development
– clean
– engaging relationships (romance/friendship/family)
– unique or interesting setting
– I enjoy historical/medieval fantasy
Don’t like:
– excessive world building
– explicit scenes (acotar or fourth wing – cool stories but too explicit for me)
– so plot focused that characters & relationships are 2D
– YA fantasy (unless it’s not focused on the fact that MCs are teenagers)
Series or standalone (no preference)
Please hit me up with your best recommendations! I’m so excited to get back into fantasy. I want to get swept up into the saga!

If you’re open to very long books, [The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard! It’s a beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships.
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi! The third and final book just came out. Beautiful world, amazing magic, high stakes, and clean!
