I want to try something new whereby I read to my wife at night. I find once we’re in bed and other than the nights we’re doing other things, we scroll on our phones or read separately – I’m looking for recommendations on what to read to her. It’s something she has asked me to do in the past but we have different taste in books – I’m in crime thrillers and horror, and she’s more into fantasy and some smutty stories!
I’m thinking nothing to violent or scary but a good novel / fiction with a nice story would be good (smut probably good too!!)… probably less than say 250 pages too so it doesn’t go on forever in case it doesn’t work!
Does anyone have any good recommendations?

The two things that pop into my head that would fill the venn diagram of you and your wife’s preferences are potentially the Ann Rice Interview with a Vampire series and/or the Jim Butcher Dresden Files series.
