Hi ya’ll! Chronicles of Narnia used to be, and still is one of my favorite series. I’m not big into fantasy, but I want to start with something similar to this. It doesn’t have to be the exact same premise, but I’d love to read similar books or ones that give off the same vibe.

Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones or most of her books.

The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle

The Hounds of the Morrigan by Pat O’Shea

The Children of Green Knowe by Lucy M Boston (more magical realism than fantasy)

**The Book of the Dun Cow** by Walter Wangerin Jr. definitely has the same vibe. Epic battle of good vs. evil, but played out with animals. (It’s not as silly as it sounds.)

**The Hobbit** of course, and **The Lord of the Rings** for the more adult version.

Dorothy Sayers’s Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries are a very different genre of course, but still give off that friendly British vibe.

You might try some of CS Lewis’s other works of course. I really like **The Great Divorce** which is about kind of an imagined afterlife.

I’ve always associated it with *The Chronicles of Prydain* by Lloyd Alexander. The reglious connotations are gone, but you have an incredibly imaginative world, depth in the characters and even better crafted stories. It’s definitely as child-friendly as *Narnia*, but more fun with less of a formulaic approach to the stories. Highly recommended.

    5. It’s not as deep and more of a young adult seriee, but the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull gave me a similar vibe for some reason.
