I am current doing the 52 Book Club Challenge. I’ve basically got a book in mind for every prompt except Number 40 which is a book set during a holiday I don’t celebrate.
I am Northern Irish so basically celebrate all the normal British/Irish Christian holidays. Therefore books set during Eid, Hanukkah, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Chinese New Year would all count.
Officially, I can be as strict/lax with the rules as I want. However, as a minimum I would like there to be a memorable part of the book set during the holiday. So in Stephen King’s It there’s an important scene on the Fourth of July – this book would therefore count. As opposed to 11/22/63 which also features the Fourth of July but there’s nothing that memorable about it.
In terms of books I like, I read lots of different genres: Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Mystery, Literary Fiction.
My favourites include Cloud Atlas, Demon Copperhead, Piranesi, and The Stand.
Thanks!
