Been feeling anxious and scared for the future, such as being alone and trying to find a good career, so I need a book that covers on how to relief the feeling.
I’ve gotten a book that helps with my overthinking issue (Subtle art of not giving a fuck) and it’s comforting to read it

It’s the second in a series (the first book is “The Wee Free Men”), but “A Hat Full of Sky” by Terry Pratchett, there’s a monster who’s the personification of over-thinking. The book focuses on how the human capacity to believe stories can be used to fight the cruel, unceasing nature of the universe. It basically creates a compelling argument for why you should tell the over-thinking monster, >!”Nah, you’re technically accurate but I’m gonna think about this differently”.!<
I found that justification really helpful. I remind myself that I’m all but DESIGNED to function with fantasies of safety in my head. My brain didn’t evolve to endlessly analyze future dangers like a danger-detecting computer, in order to LIVE, and live well, I have to embrace comforting fantasies.
