I loved goosebumps as a kid, welcome to camp nightmare definetly is one I remember most.
Spoiler alert on it, but I love how it seems like they are just going to a normal camp, and weird stuff keeps happening, then at the end there is just a massive twist where it turns out all the kids at the camp including the main character are aliens and they are training for an invasion of earth.
I want a book like that for adults, something where the horror keeps building on itself, where the atmosphere matters most. A good twist at the end is always welcome as well but not a requirement whatsoever.
I haven’t really read since I was a kid and I want to get back into it, I was obsessed with horror books and would go through them like crazy, I want to get back into the genre and read more, recapture the magic that was reading as a kid.
So any suggestions are welcome, I haven’t read pretty much anything as an adult so no matter how popular they are, I probably haven’t read them.

Hey I recently read Hidden pictures, not classified as a “horror” horror but damn it’s thrilling and the whole primise is so gripping and there’s a horror element too… stick long enough to find that if what the character is going through is just mind games or something ominous
