I'm 35, soon to be a father to my first child. I recently removed all social media applications from my phone because I became concerned of its affect on my mental health and being a negative influence in general.

I just bought a Kindle, and I was hoping to get some recommendations on books that had a profound affect on people, things like Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep for example.

Admittedly due to ADHD I do struggle to keep focus, so books in the 200-300 pages range would be great so I don't get disheartened.

    Thank you.

    1. Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse is excellent and only around 150 pages.

Sirens of Titan & Slaughterhouse Five, both by Vonnegut, are under 300.

Lots of Camus’ work is pretty short. I recommend The Myth of Sisyphus and The Stranger. I think these are each only 100 – 200 pages.

I think Brave New World is also under 300.
