I was recently diagnosed with PTSD and am looking for books from authors about their experiences with it. I keep getting recommendations for “the body keeps the score” and similar books from a medical perspective as well as books set only in childhood and teens, but I’m looking for a book from the perspective of someone in adulthood living with PTSD. The trauma itself doesn’t have to be from adulthood, but the process of treatment does.
Ideally someone talking about experience with sexual assault but I am open to anything. Fiction is fine if it is somewhat autobiographical. I imagine there must be some novel or memoir out there written by someone reckoning with it in adulthood, but I can’t anything.
Any recommendations would be appreciated
