Books about world history!!

I have always been fascinated by other histories, and I want to read particularly nonfiction memoir style or just a history of all countries. However, I want to stress the importance of books written by people of that country, not like an American or western interpretation. For example, for Afghanistan, I want to read something from an Afghani author, that centers Afghanistan as a whole, not in the context of their relationship with the US or Russia only. Any recs for any country please drop below!! Would love to do it alphabetically as it’ll scratch my brain but any suggestion for literally any country/group of people is welcome!!
