New to reading, very interested in philosophy and spiritual thinking.

All my life I’ve struggled with ADHD and reading has been an issue. I could never bring myself to read as a kid.

Off late I’ve been exploring philosophy and spirituality. I came across various pieces of literature and philosophical thinking by Rabindranath Tagore and it moved me deeply.

I’m very interested in reading books that help me grow and think. Since I’m not much of a reader, I’m very confused as to where I should start.

    Any suggestions?

    1. “Meditations” by Marcus Aurelius is a classic if you want to learn about Stoicism. Gregory Hays, who does the most recent English translation, also writes a fantastic intro to the book that covers a lot of the concepts and the historical setting.

    2. I can’t tell you where to start. I started by just reading something. Then I listened to discussions on a random topic or question and get introduced to more materials.

      My favorite is Al- Ghazali

    3. Try the Stoics (Epictetus, Seneca, Marcus Aurelius.), Essays and Aphorisms by Schopenhauer. Anything by David Stove (Australian philosopher)
