Hopefully the title makes sense. For me, this would be things like Cloud Atlas, which sort of builds and builds several threads and then ties together perfectly in the end. Or Infinite Jest, with its obscure hints at something strange having happened in the United States, which doesn’t get explained until much later, but affects many other aspects of the story.

    No YA, please.

**Silo** trilogy by Hugh Howey. Post-apocalyptic drama but you have to read a very long time before you understand what the apocalypse was and why remaining humans are … arranged the way they are.

**Wayward Pines** trilogy by Blake Crouch. MC arrives at a small, idyllic town and you must wait a loooong time to understand what the hell is exactly wrong with this picturesque but weird-as-hell town.

**Horror Movie (A Novel)** by Paul Tremblay. Creepy, campy horror about a microbudget horror movie from the 90s that was never released, and a present-day indie company’s attempt at the remake. You have to read the entire book to understand what happened in the movie and why it wasn’t released the first time.
