My oldest daughter is 8 years old and still loves being read to. We've read the following:
Betsy & Tacy books 1-3, The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, the entire Ramona series, The Lion Witch and Wardrobe, The Moomens, Baby Island, The Wizard of Oz, Little Witch.
Need some new suggestions now, as those are all the ones from my childhood!
Saving for later: Anne of Green Gables (age 9+), Little Women (age 10+), and unsure about the Little House Series because we started them and I want to re-read before I read to her – the attitudes towards native americans and the general pro manifest destiny were more stark than I remembered.
Anyhow tell me all your suggestions for beautiful classic stories to share with her!
