The past year I’ve really gotten back into reading, the last time I was like this I was 14 which is nearly ten years ago! I’ve found that I’m struggling to find my new niche in the adult world of reading. I’ve mostly been reading books I used to love or the odd recommendation that has absolutely destroyed me.
Im looking for books like
-Harry Potter (I recently re read it and forgot how much I loved the whole feel of the world)
– Circe and song of Achilles ( I don’t think I’ve read better, more beautifully written books in my life)
-anything by Sally Rooney (I love the way she portrays her characters)
-the Firebird trilogy by Claudia Gray (an all time favourite, as I’ve gotten older I don’t particularly like the love triangle aspect. However, everything else is perfection)
These are the only ones off the top of my head but I’m hoping you guys can get the gist!
I honestly have no clue what sort of books I enjoy anymore, I tend to lean towards fantasy but also not super outlandish fantasy. I always love a bit a romance but I suppose not a super airy fairy one, I love to have a good cry over a story. I find I enjoy books most when the world is well developed and/or the writing makes you feel like you’re apart of the world.
I’d appreciate anyone’s help!

A Thousand Splendid Suns – Khaled Hosseini
try Queen of the Tearling! it’s a three book series with a massive and complicated world. I read it in late high school (now 22) so I don’t remember it super well, but I remember really enjoying it! not a great ending for the romance though if I recall correctly (but like I said, my memory is foggy)
edit to add: went through my goodreads and I also recommend mexican gothic (more spooky than crying but I loved it), and there’s a really sweet romance.
