The ending had me shocked. I realized as soon as I read it the hair would’ve been Viva’s and that’s why there was that not so random mention of her cutting her hair off first. So I immediately jumped to “Nicola killed Viva”

But what also confused me was that in the letter by Rebecca she mentioned that Nicola never did her own dirty work? So why would she kill Viva if she wasn’t the type of person to do something like that?

Seems like she definitely lured Viva there pretending to be Tom because Nicola wanted Tom herself, so maybe she did kill her to ensure Viva didn’t ruin her plans to get with him and killers sometimes keep ‘trophies’ of their murders after so the hair would’ve been that.

So the thing I’m conflicted between here is if the ending was set up for everyone to piece together that Nicola must’ve killed Viva as she lured her somewhere pretending to be Tom and killed her and cut her hair. Why 2 pages before this would the author mention Nicola wasn’t the type of person to do any dirty work.

Was Tom maybe in on it? and they killed Viva together and that’s why he was shocked because he found his wife had been keeping something that could trace back to what they had done and he was the one to do the actual dirty work of it? Or was he just shocked because he pieced together his wife had killed someone?
