Books like ‘This Is How You Lose The Time War’?

Hey all, I’m extremely new to reading. Couldn’t do it growing up, and honestly I’m not even really there yet now, but I’m trying to give this thing a genuine fair shot. I’ve been trying to get into Fantasy/SciFi because in film/TV that’s where my heart is. However, all the books that I’ve tried based on popular recommendation fell flat for me, except for ‘This Is How You Lose The Time War’ (which wasn’t even recommended to me lol).

I loved just about everything about that book. The poetic, flowery writing style. The nonsensical time fantasy world, which served as the background rather than the main course. The story unfolding between these two characters whose heads we get to live in back and forth. It could be extremely brutal and also beautiful within the same sentence. The fact that it felt like it was truly about something in the end. Just absolutely loved it, and I want more, but have no clue where to look.

This post is sort of just a general plea for help I guess, coming from someone who wants to see what you all see in this medium that keeps you coming back, because I’m really lost, and I’d really like to find my way around here.
