I’m sorry if this is a crappy opinion. I love reading books about strong female leads in the fantasy genre. I’m so utterly sick of reading a book synopsis that’s starts out phenomenal and ends in “until she meets (some stupid ass fantasy male name)”. Jesus Christ. Don’t get me wrong, I love romance in a book. I just am so sick of the romance genre of books. Sure, love and relationships lead our lives. I get it. I don’t want to read about some badass woman becoming a simpering “not like the other girls” for some mediocre, unrealistically feminist, eboy motherfucker. I don’t want to hear about him “growling” or fucking being a weirdly protective creep. The only growth in the book is growth centered around their relationship. Jesus Christ can this genre die so I can read books about cool women. Sorry for the incoherent sentences. I was looking at good read suggestions and I feel like my blood is boiling.

It’s not hard to not read books you’re not interested in.
Relationships (and their progress) are the main thing in romance so if you don’t like it look for books without it?
As someone who just recently got into the romance genre, I can guarantee you that the romance genre is not going to die because people don’t want it to die.
