I'm searching for a book that covers the story of the main character struggling with poverty and crime. He can be dragged into shady stuff like drugs, crimes, prison etc. I want a story that tells the life of a guy fighting for his life. Like 'Trainspotting' by Irvine Welsh, 'That Peckham Boy' by Kenny Imafidon or 'Young Mungo' by Douglas Stewart. There can be romance but it should not be the focus of the story. Bonus if it plays in the UK.

Angela’s Ashes, Hunger Games
I think you would really enjoy the Ender’s Shadow series by Orson Scott Card. A story about a kid on the streets trying to survive.
You Who Enter Here by Erika Wurth
Clockers by Richard Price
The Godfather. I know you’re saying “what?” But Vito Corleone was born into poverty and crime, and survived the rest of his family being murdered before escaping to America.
Oliver Twist and Great Expectations are both classics for a reason.
