I'm looking for something that will make me feel better. Right now everything seems so grim in my life and I'm very angry about almost everything. I mostly read thrillers, and while I do enjoy them very much, reading about dead bodies isn't putting me in a better head space.
So something like triumph over despair or actually getting to the light at the end of the tunnel or uplifting. Something that will be a salve to my heart. Please.

If you’re open to very long books, [The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard! It’s a beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships.
If you need humor in your life, anything by Christopher Moore.
Give Catherine Ryan Hyde a try. I feel like her stuff fit the bill of comforting, cozy, and uplifting.
Abby Jimenez & Emily Henry & Beth O’Leary are good bets for comfort reading.
