I read to my 8-year-old son at bedtime. We’ve read a few other Roald Dahl stories together, but he hasn’t enjoyed them as much as Danny Champion of the World (other than the BFG). He likes the positive relationship between Danny and his father, the adventure with the pheasants, and the comeuppance that Mr. Victor Hazell gets. Any suggestions for other stories that focus on a positive relationship between a child and an adult (or a friend) that also have a bit of an adventure? He also liked Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman. Thank you!
