ACOTAR Hangover

TLDR; Looking for book suggestions. Epic slow burn, spicy but not overly spicy. Scrupulous plot/world building. First POV and FMC preferred. Decent grammar/editing is a must.

After much persistence, my friend convinced me to get A Court of Thorns and Roses. I was hesitant at first; fantasy was never my go-to, other than Twilight. But a girl can only reread that saga so many times. Sigh. I bought the book. Needless to say, I devoured it in less than 48 hours. Continued on to finish A Court of Silver Flames 13 days later.

I loved the slow burn romance between the characters. SJM’s writing matched my needs (good punctuation and structuring). I loved that the plot wasn’t centered around romance, but it still played a vital part. Great story and world building.

After devouring this series, I’m at an impasse. I don’t know what to read or where to start. I read Fourth Wing, though it lacked the romance and attention to detail I needed. Story itself was also just rushed and a little bland IMO. I feel stubborn as a mule with my hopefulness that no book will amount to Rhy’s and Feyre.

I’ve heard Throne of Glass is excellent, but there’s so many books and too many timelines to match up. Plus, I’ve heard it isn’t spicy at all and it takes 4 books to even get romantic or interesting.

Can anyone save me from my ACOTAR hangover because I literally don’t know what to do with myself. This series altered my brain chemistry. It doesn’t need to be about Fae or anything like that, though I am liking supernatural relationships.
