Ian McEwan – please tell me his books aren’t all horrible. Someone suggest an antidote to what I just read?
I saw someone reading his book “Amsterdam” in the coffee shop near my house, and he said it was a very good book and he liked the author.
The only book the library had was
“First love last rites”
I’m trying to branch out a little bit in the type of books / authors I would choose from the library. I’ve heard of Ian before but not much about him.
What in the actual f888 did I just read?
I started to read the first story and when it became clear what it was about I skipped to the end thinking surely it’s just hyperbole.
So disturbing. I just did not need to read that or even exist in the same universe. I’m not one of those “let’s ban books” weirdos but JFC this one could be a candidate for some matches.
