I am halfway through Little Eve and I’m just engrossed. I really like that it’s a “how did we get here and why?” mystery, rather than a “who did it and what happened?” one – I also just love the way Catriona Ward writes, the subject matter of cults, how things are written so well and subtly from the point of view of a young narrator while relaying the horrifying things that are happening. I would love recommendations for a similar book!

    1. **”We Have Always Lived in the Castle” by Shirley Jackson** – a classic that explores themes of isolation, family secrets, and psychological horror, all from the perspective of a young, unreliable narrator. It’s eerie, subtly creepy, and beautifully written.

Or, **”The Last House on Needless Street” also by Catriona Ward** since you enjoy her writing! This has that same dark atmospheric vibe similar to Little Eve.
