I used to really enjoy reading. Most books now either irritate me or bore me. I did recently finish most of Blake Crouch’s books, I was sucked in. I also recently read Beartown and was emotionally touched in places, but it was so drawn out, by the third book, I was done, I cannot finish it. Books have historically been my happy place. I’ve looked into Book tok and it seems like most of them must be getting paid to mention titles, because most of the suggestions seem like mindless garbage. Any suggestions? Some of my favorites in the past have been Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adam’s, Margaret George, Sherilyn K Penman, Patricia Briggs, DJ Moles, Dim Zales. Philipa Gregory, Elizabeth Chadwick… A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court is maybe one of my all time favorites. I read the Dark Queens a couple of years ago, it’s another
Favorite. Rereading it because everything else new is boring. And yes I’ve read a lot of
Classics. East of Eden is my fav Steinbeck. I guess I could revisit some. Cannot remember a list right now. And also, I have considered this is depression, but I don’t think so because I got really into Blake Crouch and wasn’t bored or irritated by it. Also, I’m back into the Dark Queens and loving it. Maybe I’m old?
