I read on and off but lately I founding reading to be a good way to wind down and take a break from social media. Most of the time I can read a chapter or two without any problems, but every once in a while I have a hard time keeping my mind focus and I end up thinking about other priorities, previous conversations, or in some cases things that either annoy me or upset me like previous arguments/disagreements I’ve had with people creeping into my head out of nowhere. I’m usually interested in the content of what I’m reading, so I don’t think that’s the problem, but it can take me out of the experience. I’m assuming this happens to others from time to time so I’m curious, what techniques do you use to let go of other thoughts and better focus while reading?
