Hi all. I’m going through a tough time with my aging dog. He is practically 14 years old and going through some things. I know the time could be coming soon. Whether that’s days, weeks, or a few months I don’t know. I’ve actually always struggled with death anxiety for myself, other humans, and pets. This will be my first big pet loss for my best friend that wasn’t a larger family dog. We have spent almost every second together for over 13 years, especially the past 8-9 years as I’ve worked from home.
I am looking for some books that don’t have an overly religious or super spiritual tone. I consider myself agnostic. Suggestions don’t have to be targeted to only pet loss as this is something I struggle with in general. And yes, I do have therapy scheduled.
