    1. I don’t know whether you can get this book now, it’s out of print; it was my nan’s favourite book! – still available used within the UK but if you are [say] in the States, you’d have to pay shipping from the UK. The actual cost of the book used, is only a few dollars/pounds. [on Abe].

The Hills Is Lonely by Lillian Beckwith is the first of her Hebridean series, and it’s the slice-of-life, amusing tale of how she moved to the Hebrides [in Scotland] to live in a small village – nothing much happens but it’s really heartwarming and joyful, and full of the details of life in Scotland 50 years ago [and really, not changed much since the 19th century.]

    2. May I suggest some Fredrik Backman, like *A Man Called Ove -* his books are heartwarming and occasionally heartbreaking.

Also, if you’re up for some cozy sci-fi, I adore Becky Chambers. *To Be Taught, if Fortunate* being my favourite!

    3. These Precious Days by Anne Patchett is sooooo heart warming. It is a collection of essays or short stories but it definitely touched my heart.
